These hardy, russet-skinned People are as tough as the land that forged them. They not only survive the deserts, badlands and desolate sandy wastes of Quantia, but prosper there, building great cities, renowned for their grand structures and superior craftsmanship.

In appearance, they are a stocky folk, with plates of carapace – a natural bone-like armour matching their skin colour – covering most their body and head, which gives them an inherent protection against physical damage. Their faces and features are wide and flattened, with the forehead, cheeks and chin a little more prominent than humans due to the naturally ‘armoured’ segments protecting these areas.

Their most visually striking physical quality is their eyes; they have evolved a semi-transparent, red-coloured second eyelid that can be opened and closed at will, which act like an organic pair of protective lenses. When closed, they keep sand, dust, rain, smoke etc. from their eyes, as well as providing protection from the glare of the sun.

All Auslanders grow a single knot of hair from youth, giving them a plait that extends to their lower back.

In desert terrain they excel.  enduring the extremes of desert conditions without penalty.
